Wish Frank was a participant here. Honestly wish more OSSI pledged creators would describe or introduce their varieties here for us to learn more about them. Many are not even listed officially on the OSSI varieties page and it seems very out of date.
Didn't purchase the Superior Licorice Mint, though I'm still interested in it if anyone wants to gift me some seeds. I have a new interest in culinary herbs and spices.
Just placed an order for Frank's "Wild Garden Fennel Mix".
Fennel is a interesting plant. It is naturalized on the west coast but really struggles here. I had some for a couple years but then it petered out. I think my wife has a small patch of bronze fennel again. Her garden is cared for more intensely than mine and may get better soil.
I grow two species horse mints native to Montana Agastache urticifolia and Agastache foeniculum. They show no signs of crossing but my wife is growing some additional species as well now. I thought they and the native bee balm Monarda fistulosa were some of the best plants for native bumblebees. Now though my wife's cut flower garden may be outcompeting them for bumblebee attention. Though the California native phacelia known as Bee's friend Phacelia tanacetifolia is one of her plants that is one of the most intense attractions. I've had bee's friend in my garden for years as well but I don't plant it systematically every year. It would probably be the easiest trap crop to shorten isolation distances / improve isolation between bee pollinated crops.

Was wondering how crossable the Agastache are. Hybrids possible between the Asian rugosa and the 7 American species but sterile. According to the abstract for this article.
