Post by: Gilbert Fritz on 2018-11-07, 10:07:42 AM
Will the OSSI website eventually promote this forum?

One thing that would be easy to do, is to promote this forum via the OSSI email list. I'm not feeling very creative about writing that email. Anyone wanna help?

More and more gardeners are experimenting with plant breeding. Other tastes, changing planting time, adapting to marginal environments, outbreeding varieties and many more types of crops are being bred. But who to contact if you have a question, where to exchange information on techniques, on other examples? OSSI has now launched a new Open Source Plant Breeding forum where all these types of information can be exchanged.

Does it sound too ad like? Feel free to adapt, use...

Yeah i agree,  a link should be put on the main OSSI website.  In the main menu an ideal spot would be between Magazine and Podcast or under Community or Get Involved.

We discussed the forum in yesterday's OSSI Board of Directors meeting. A link is going to be added to the main OSSI website. In addition, we plan to promote the form via an announcement to the OSSI email list, Facebook page, etc.

The OSSI website now has a link to the Open Source Plant Breeding Forum. It's the first division under Community. It might be possible to give the forum a Tab, but that isn't a sure thing and will take rearranging the home page. This is a quick solution for the moment.

An announcement about the forum went out today to OSSI's email list.
