G'day, Just going the share my breeding experiments in this location, my background is animal breeding at a hobby level so the switch to plants will come with some surprises for sure 😊

With the south Anna pumpkin already in there pots, my other strains are only a few weeks behind them

Welcome to the forum, Luke.
What animals did/do you breed?
I did some duck breeding myself. Anconas, a dual purpose laying duck. However, there are real advantages to growing or breeding plants. So much so that after breeding 'Beef-Bush Black Resilient' bean, I wrote a song to celebrate. Only time I've ever written a song to celebrate one of my varieties. It's sung to a cheerful, speeded up version of the chorus to Tom Dooley. The bean is sold by Row 7 Seeds. The flavor is like that of browned dry-aged beef. Row 7 is planning major commercialization.

The Beefy Bean Song

I wanna grow my beef from seed,
beef-bean bushes if you please,
bushes that don't run around,
or stomp me right into the ground.

First I till and then I sow,
plant beef-bean bushes row by row.
They stay in their rows just lookin' sharp.
And never once do they poop or fart.

Winter comes but I don't feel blue,
just make myself some beefy beef-bean stew,
or maybe a beef-bean burger instead,
or beef-bean gravy mopped up with bread.

I wanna grow my beef from seed,
beef-bean bushes if you please,
bushes that don't run around,
or stomp me right into the ground.

Use to breed cows, horse, dogs and several types of birds back on parents farm but that's going back a few years now.

Love the song mate  ;)
