We've had many days of high heat, upper 80s F, and quite a few nights warm enough to run the A/C all night. This is hot for Vermont.

The heat has broken for the moment. However, we had significant rain and some flooding in July 2024, not quite as bad as July 2023, but quite damaging to some communities.

Despite all that, it has been a pretty good year for tomatoes. Less disease than last year, lots of snails (which I have kept under control only by hand-picking), and quite a few slugs.

This was a good year for us, not nearly as hot/humid as 2023.  Some wet anomalies for sure. Twice normal precipitation in June and record rainfall in November - more than any november and in some places more than any month ever, or very close to it.

2024 has turned out to be one of the driest years I can remember. Only one large rainfall event in Oct, 85mm. The rest of the year was made up of falls lass than 20mm. The years total will come over 500mm or 20in
Changeable climate manly during winter & spring - 500mm average yearly rainfall. 23 years of soil improvements plus sub soil top soil reversal means my garden beds are about half metre deep. Below that is 100's of metres of alluvial shingle

Our summers seem to be settling into hot for longer periods and overall drier. Winter is a crap shoot, maybe 70s F for a couple weeks then -5 F for a day or two. Winter is also drier overall; snow is pretty rare now days. Spring and fall are hard to distinguish anymore.

We are also having longer hot periods in summer, the past three years.  And longer fall without significant frost.
But definitely pushing precipitation records as well.
If they keep the stats for days without sunshine, we may've set records in 2024, even though July and August were sunny and dry.  Seasonal drought is normal here in August.
Summer of 91 the effects of Pinatubo, hardly a warm up at all and rarely sunshine.
But 2024, yep, may be another record.
