Recently I get this message when I first try to log on.  I am able to log on OK the second time I try.  However, it is enough to discourage others from trying a second time.  I have just heard from someone who has given up.

You don't have permission to access this resource.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Hi Diane
Do you use chrome?
Are you stored your password on chrome?
Chrome can stored the passwords and since some versions the connexion is automatic when you store your password.
If its that you will see yours id write automaticaly when you open the home page.
if you wait some second without click on "connexion" your connexion will be automatic.

Two requests at same time can generate some errors.

Ocimum

I have the same error message, but am using firefox. It does not login automatically.

Have you ad-on activated on your browser?

Ocimum

Yes, adblocks ABP for example

Diane Whitehead

I use Safari.

This did not happen until a few weeks ago.  I noticed there were not as many messages being posted, so perhaps some members were discouraged.

Do you have again the problem if you try  to connected yourself in desactivate ad-block or all the add-on?

Kadence Luneman

I get on mainly from my phone in a chrome browser. I have not had this happen to me. I'm not really technical so idk if that's helpful or not.

Steph S

I use firefox and had this problem multiple times in the past - not today, so it may be fixed.  In the past, I was able to get in by attempting a second time after being 'forbidden'.   Although not enough to prevent someone determined and willing to persist, it could be a deterrent to newcomers or etc if not fixed.
I don't personally think this forum is better off as a 'forbidden' resource to anyone searching on the internet, but that is up to the forum keepers. Probably a software glitch I assume, because it makes zero sense for the forum to be inaccessible.

For a long time when I just hit go on what pops up in the address bar (https://opensourceplantbreeding.org/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=0713b9f3096507f7ff95ecc8ce941c1e;sslRedirect)I get the forbidden message.

When I delete the part I have underlined and hit enter again it takes me to the site.

Nicolas

Yes it is from an old link from the previous version of the forum with some session information

Joseph Lofthouse

Is the solution then to modify bookmarks to remove the old session ID?

I am able to create an error file for when this happens, but what do I say in it?

Diane Whitehead

It has stopped happening to me since yesterday afternoon.

Someone must have fixed it.

And just now it all worked here too.

Thanks Diane for letting me know that I am not the only one who just could not get onto the OSSI forum.  Well for now at least, maybe because it's Christmas Eve, it has worked.

Wish you all a happy time, whichever version of the Winter Festival you are celebrating.  As gardeners we all yearn for the return of the light and the start of the new gardening seasons.  May it bring you excellent growing and lucky breeding successes too.

PS I realise those lucky people 'down under' are already well into their new growing year and successes are that bit closer for you.

Steph S

It's working consistently for me, the past couple of days.

Best wishes to you too, Galina Gardener, and to all here, for a year of success with your breeding experiments.
