"This variety is a northern adapted homage to the legendary Maiz Morado/Kulli corn from Peru. Ed Shultz, the accomplished and passionate open pollinated corn breeder who spent 30 years selecting this dark purple variety, explains that Mountain Morado is was actually selected from Painted Mountain corn."

Quote from Baker Creek above.

30 years for Ed and 35 for Dave. Same starting corn Dave's.

Though another reason to choose Dave's version is that while they were trying to sell products made from the corn they paid for testing of the antioxidants and those tests look great.

Check out Ole and Dave's website here: https://www.northfrontierfarms.com/

Though I do wonder if Ed may have decided to force Dave's hand on releasing his because Daves used to be tantalizingly advertised but only for products. Though that is mere speculation on my part. Ed did release four other corns first before he released this one.

I personally chose Dave's version direct from Northern Frontier Farms but the fact that Dave's painted mountain corn was so inspiring to me back in the 90s may have a lot to do with that.

I grew Burpee's Suntava one time, and it didn't come out looking like the pictures.
