waltham x tetsukabuto is defitively a not viable cross.the seeds on the second fruit was all flats.
However with violina x tetsukabuto the seeds look well full.

I think that the male fertility is really restorated at the third generation.

At the second generation the plants opened a male flower at same time that the female flower.
1 male flower /  1 fruit at the second generation.

I've been frustrated with Blue Hubbard melons, where the early season flowers all seemed to be male. I could have had fruit sooner if early flowers had been a mix of male and female.

Cathy A the males flowers at the started  of the season is normal.
Its more normal that this photo.
Male flowers at started are importants for habits bees to visits the flowers.

The first seed of the season started to germinated it is about a seed of (violina x waltham)f2 x (violina x tetsukabuto).
Very curious to see what it can give.

Firsts seeds in germination!
Unfortunately some seeds are some difficulties to germinated.

Its normal that some plants give a lot of secondary roots and that the main root dryed?

Difference between violina x tetsukabuto  right and small violina x (violina x tetsukabuto) left.
I will cross this year tetsukabuto f2 with the f3 generation!
Small violina is a f2 of violina x waltham selected for have fruits of 2 kg with thr carachteristics of a violina.

On the second photo the plant has strangers leafs.

What fertiliser do you use for yours squashs?
I have used a potting soil with fertiliser NPK 15-15-15 in planter of 2L but after 2 leafs stage after cotyledons the leafs passt at the yellow? My potting soil is too poor or the nitrogen is not assimilatenable?

Kadence Luneman

Nice to see squash plants. I've got a little time before I should plant mine.

I don't have any fertilizer suggestions because the only one I've ever used is manure, or rarely manure tea. But that's much easier for me to get being on a farm.

Squashs are in fullground
Varietys: small violina x (violina x tetsukabuto) and violina x tetsukabuto
I have planted a blue of hungary next to and i will planted later next to: unknow x (blue of hungary x (blue of hungary x tetsukabuto))

Second project: i have planted together
Blue of hungary x ( blue of hungary x tetsukabuto) one plant and two plants of
unknow x (blue of hungary x (blue of hungary x tetsukabuto)) around.

((Violina x waltham) f2) x (violina x tetsukabuto) has a very low vigor but if isn' eat by slugs he can growed.

Do you think that i can crossed blue of hungary with
(Violina x waltham) f2) x (violina x tetsukabuto) or
small violina x (violina x tetsukabuto)? I want created my own interspecific cross.
If a so cross can arrived it will be very crazy but its not my main objective.

My main objective now is to assembly the nutty taste of violino rugosa and  the sugar rate of futsu kurokawa , the low vegetative t° of green delicious and the earliness of waltham in one variety.
