Professor Rex Bernardo is an excellent lecturer and has written two textbooks about plant breeding:
"Essentials of Plant Breeding" and "Breeding for Quantitative Traits in Plants" (http://bernardo-group.org/books-and-software/)

Tsitsin's book "wide hybridisation of plants" looks great. Sad that not all of it is scanned. Do you know of anyone having a book scanner?
https://www.diybookscanner.org/
https://www.amazon.com/CZUR-ET16-Document-Scanner-Windows/dp/B01H2YCN24?ref_=fsclp_pl_dp_1

Otherwise, I would chip in to help paying for a scan with a commercial scanner like this
https://boundbookscanning.com/paid-order-form/

Any one interested enough to help chip in some money to try that book scanning service above for an electronic copy of the wide hybridization book? I think i'm willing and ready to do it if anyone else is interested.

EDIT: i'm not sure if it is still copyrighted. It was published in 1962, but I don't know if the copyright was renewed or not.

The second edition of Allard is available at Powell's in Portland Oregon for $250.95

A lot cheaper than all those enticing Plant Breeding Reviews.

If you want to be overwhelmed with choice, look here:  https://www.powells.com/searchresults?keyword=plant%20breeding&mpp=50&pg=2

There are four screensful of plant breeding books, though the fourth lot are not currently in stock.

If published in USA in 1962 its under copyright until 2057.

For books published in USA copyright is:
Published before 1923 -- now public domain
Published 1923 through 1977 -- pub date +95 years
Published after 1978 -- life of author + 70 years

Most libraries can interlibrary loan a book for you from pretty much any library in the country. You put in a request. Your local library  calls you when the book arrives.

Just glanced at the chapter and section titles of the PDF "Return to Resistance"  No way I'm reading that on a screen so I went to Amazon and ordered a print copy.
