Sounds like I might be able to grow any I want here in southern Indiana. If they don't reach "full potential" that's ok cause what that means to me is what they do in my garden.

I think onions might be more mixed up and variable than is commonly thought anyway. For example I have planted large bulbs from the grocery store in fall and had them grow into clumps that bloomed and or made top sets the nest season. Unless they were male sterile, genetics from some of them is probably in my patch right now.
