Volunteer Squash are Tetsukabuto F2

My wife decided she wanted to microwave a couple squash for halloween.

I directed her to the volunteer lofthouse buttercup from the back yard. The fact is that they arent. She was struggling to dig the seeds out of the first one. I quickly realized why- Tetsukabuto! The second had none confirming it. Also the seeds look super thin shelled.

I was expecting big Maxima pumpkins from the vines from some Maximas my mom got for the boy whose seeds went into the compost. They looked so big and vigorous. So I was surprised when apparent Lofthouse buttercup formed. Now I know why they were so vigorous! 50% lofthouse buttercup 25% maxima and 25% moschata!

Not yet, I didn't grow out much of the seed for moschata or Tetsukabuto this year. I had one weak plant intentionally planted with no fruit and these two strong volunteers.

This plants are very vigorous!
The alone problem is to found the good parent for fecondated the fruit.A lot of fruits have avorted.
For my maximoss i hope have moschamax parents or a good maxima! But i think it a rare event.
For moschamx the parent is may a different moschamax or a moschata.
